The Bachelor of Computing and Information Technology is offered in collaboration with the School of Computer and Information Science of the Edith Cowan University in Perth Western Australia. The program was structured after thorough research to ensure that the course is strongly linked to industry. Furthermore, the program has been structured to appropriately reflect current trends within the computing, information technology and information services industries. There are two (2) majors on offer currently and these are majors in Computer Security and Information Technology. The Computer Security major provides graduates with both practical and theoretical skills that will help them overcome challenges in areas such as computer and information security, computer forensics, information warfare, protection of computer networks and facilities. The Information Technology major on the other hand focuses on current and emerging areas of IT. The IT major equips Students with both practical and theoretical skills in programming, database, data communications, information systems, knowledge and project management.
The PIBT Advanced Diploma in Computing and Information Technology can be attained in 16 months instead of the normal duration of 2 years. Students who successfully complete the PIBT Advanced Diploma subsequently transfer to the Edith Cowan University to study for the last two semesters (12 months) equivalent to third year University study. Students are awarded the Bachelor's Degree after completing the last two semesters at ECU.
