PERTH INSTITUTE OF BUSINESS AND TECHNOLOGY (PIBT) AND EDITH COWAN UNIVERSITY (ECU) TO PHASE OUT ITS COURSES AT AUSTRALIAN INSTITUTE OF BUSINESS AND TECHNOLOGY (AIBT)

It is with regret that PIBT and ECU have decided to phase out courses offered through AIBT. This decision has been taken in the context of considerable efforts by AIBT, ECU and PIBT since 2004 to make the courses at AIBT viable. Notwithstanding these efforts, it is clear the business model for these courses is unsustainable.

The teach-out period for courses will be as follows:

Certificate IV in University Foundation Studies, diplomas and advanced diplomas will be taught out over trimesters one, two and three 2010 and trimester one 2011.

ECU's Bachelor courses will be taught out over trimesters one, two and three 2010 and trimester one, two and three 2011.

ECU's MBA course will be taught out over trimesters one, two and three 2010 and trimester one 2011.

Individual study plans for the teach-out period will be developed for all students prior to the start of trimester one 2010;
